Since 1964 Opocrin S.p.A has been involved in research, production and marketing of active pharmaceutical ingredients derived from animal organs and tissues. Lifesaving drugs such as heparin, low molecular-weight heparin and pulmonary surfactant are the active ingredients of greatest interest to the company. Opocrin has broadened its range of offerings with the production of iron complexes such as sodium ferric gluconate, iron sucrose and ferric protein. PRODUCTS

Opocrin S.P.A. foundation.
1973
First sales of Heparin Sodium produced by the Company.
1975
Acquisition of a new production plant in Nonantola (Modena).
1976/1980
Production of new products of international interest, such as catalase or Heparin Calcium, Sulodexide and Mesoglycans.
1984
Development of a low molecular weight heparin initially called OP21-23 and subsequently Parnaparin (official name INN).
1988
Study and realization, on behalf of an important Italian multinational, of natural surfactant.
1994
The production of pig pulmonary surfactant, in the new dedicated facility starts.
1998
CE certification for medical devices made of collagen is obtained.
1999
Opocrin is classified by the FDA and Health Canada as an acceptable provider for active ingredients of animal origin.
2011/2012
Study, development and set-up of the manufacturing process of a Low Molecular Weight Heparin for the generic market.
2012/2014
Study, development and set-up of the manufacturing process of a polysaccharide of plant origin (Arabinogalactan).
